Green oranges at St. Bernard’s Parish in New Orleans.
I was told they shall be ripe by Thanksgiving.

I wrote this when I was in New Orleans this past weekend.  Just wanted to archive it somewhere:

neither straight nor bent
neither up nor down
neither fearful nor free
neither lost nor found

neither old nor young
neither naive nor wise
neither, maybe both
seeing with clear eyes

we’ll live as though time is
abundant
but we will not spend it
with reckless abandon
let us shore up our house
join hands
& dance
in the psalm of
love & life
