Put pen to paper
Lean in for a kiss
Strike egg against countertop
You learn something new
Train rolls down track
Step on a crack
Stumble in a dance move
You learn something new
Stand at the kitchen sink
Rub foot against ankle
Dream of ocean tides, hands in suds
You learn something new
Eyes droop in grey morning light
Return to sleep or
Make love and arise
You learn something new
Not every day
More often than that
Breathe in, breathe out
You learn something new
