Celebrating the spirit of Resurrection today with so many others. Today, for me, I am especially pondering that notion in the 17 people who were shot in Norris Hall on April 16, 2007 and who lived. The many others who were in that building and were “uninjured” but who have had to re-build their lives. The thousands of citizens in this region who have lived with this new reality, with their illusion of safety shattered, and who are striving toward mental health in a new way.
I celebrate the spirit of Resurrection today for all of those who struggle with mental illness as each new day is an attempt to redefine the terms of life, a need to count the sunrises one at a time. Thanks for your courage, your honesty, your vulnerability, your journey.
